I am sure you will all now be aware of the outcomes of Boris’s speech on Sunday and his announcement that education and childcare settings should prepare for wider opening from the 1st June.

In the attached link it is asking primary schools to welcome back nursery, reception, year 1 and year 6 pupils alongside priority groups.

There are lots of health and safety implications as well as lots of organisation and management plans to consider if this is to be the case. Ultimately school can only resume if we are confident we can keep pupils and staff safe and follow the Government guidance in this matter.

This advice seeks to support staff working in schools, colleges and childcare settings, to deliver this approach in the safest way possible, focusing on measures they can put in place to help limit risk of the virus spreading within education and childcare settings.I thank those of you who have already completed the online survey and urge those of you who haven't to do so as soon as possible by this Friday; the many concerns you have already shared with us are all our concerns and we are awaiting further guidance from the local authority.

Finally once we have had a chance to formulate our plans I will communicate them with you at the earliest opportunity and ensure that we can support those of you with children at home and at school to the best of our capabilities.

Keep safe,

Mrs Johnston-Grant
