The school has been working with the County’s Early Year’s adviser to develop the next steps from our last Ofsted Inspection which were:
- To raise expectations of what children achieve in the early years so that progress is stronger and children are ready for Year 1.
- Teachers in the early years use all opportunities, including outdoor provision, to accelerate children’s progress in the basic skills of reading, writing and mathematics .
The early year’s team has been working towards these next steps by working towards the Early Childhood Environment Rating Scale (ECERS-R). I am delighted to inform you that we have achieved a silver kite mark for our work to date.
The Environment Rating Scales are a set of standardised tools for measuring and improving the quality of early years provision. They offer a structured approach to quality improvement and self-evaluation.
